Hi, I’m Susan

I’m an accredited psychotherapist with over a decade of experience supporting people who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in survival mode. Over the years, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients — and I’ve learned that even the deepest wounds can begin to soften with the right kind of support.

My work often involves supporting people who’ve lived through many forms of trauma — from early emotional neglect or abuse to domestic violence, acute stress, repeated exposure to distressing events at work, or other painful experiences that left them feeling constantly braced or on alert.

Others come to therapy navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, burnout, or a quiet sense of disconnection they can’t quite explain.

However your story looks, therapy is a space to make sense of what’s been hard, reconnect with yourself, and begin to move through life with more steadiness, self-trust, and ease.

Trauma isn’t only about what happened; it’s about how it lives on in your body, emotions, and relationships. It can come from a single overwhelming event – or from years of pressure, feeling unseen, chronic stress, loss, or moments that left you feeling powerless or alone.

My Approach

No single approach fits everyone, so I work in an integrative way – combining well-established psychological models with evidence based methods that support lasting change and emotional regulation.

Depending on your needs, I draw on evidence-based approaches such as psychodynamic and compassion-focused therapy, CBT, EMDR, and somatic techniques, alongside insights from neuroscience and mindfulness — all through a trauma-informed lens that prioritises safety, pacing, and understanding each person’s experience.

I work in a trauma-informed way, which means that instead of asking “What’s wrong with you?” I’m more interested in “What’s happened to you?” Because the patterns and symptoms we struggle with often make perfect sense in light of what we’ve lived through.

The aim of therapy isn’t to provide quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions. It’s about helping you access your inner resources, realign with what truly matters to you, and make empowered, meaningful choices that support the life you want to live.

My work is grounded in safety and compassion, giving you the freedom to explore what’s been hard and start to reconnect with yourself.
